Does a sole proprietorship need a website?
Yes, if your customers look for your service online, and they almost always do. A profile on Facebook or Finn isn’t the same: you don’t own it, you don’t decide how it looks, and it rarely shows up when someone searches for your service and your area.
What you don’t need, though, is a big site. For the vast majority of sole proprietorships, one good page is enough: one that explains what you do, shows you know your trade, and makes it easy to call you.

Many start with a site builder, spend two weekends on it, and end up with something half-finished they can’t face touching again.

Do I need an organisation number to order?
Yes, the service is sold to registered businesses. If your sole proprietorship is registered with the Brønnøysund Register Centre, you’re good to go.
Are three pages enough?
For most sole proprietorships, yes. The Start package gives you up to three pages with the essentials. If you need more pages later, you upgrade.
Can I put the website through my accounts?
Yes, this is an ordinary business expense. You get an invoice with your organisation number.
What if I close the business?
You cancel after the three-month minimum term, and can take the domain with you.
